Simply explained; a Detroit property manager needs to be a person capable of multi-tasking juggling several tasks all at once. He needs to maintain the property well so that it is attractive to renters. Only this can help owners maximize their returns and profits on their investment.
As far as the managers' education background is concerned; there are no hard and fast rules. That being said; a manager with a bachelor's degree is likelier to have an added edge over the ones without. He/she may also have a background in accounting and other certifications and accreditations from National Real Estate Management etc are an added advantage.
Then there are organizational and administrative skills too: he/she must retain the contact numbers of all the renters as well as the owner so that they can be reached at all times. He must also be able to file taxes, maintain financial expenses as well as income reports and present these to owners when required.
People skills are an important part of the manager's qualities. The manager needs to deal with demanding and bossy tenants as well as owners having high expectations. Hence, friendly and positive attitude is a must to build lasting relationships with clients and renters alike.
These are a few qualities every property manager must possess.
